Back in the summer, the Blisworth Canal Partnership has organised another spectacular Canal Festival weekend. Helped by the excellent weather and the success of previous year’s festivals, an estimated crowd in excess of 20,000 people visited the village over the two days and we saw many, many happy smiling faces. As well as the various rides and boat trips there were stalls/ boats/ tabletops selling all manner of things. There was also much to see for those interested in our rural heritage with vintage tractors, cars, working boats and a Fowler Showman’s Engine. Blisworth Heritage Society played its part in the Festival with organised Heritage Walks and a display of the Jubilee Scrapbook in the church. CDs and Memory Sticks of the Scrapbook were on sale for the first time.
