The 15th August 2020 was the 75th anniversary of VJ day (Victory over Japan) The surrender of Imperial Japan was announced by Japanese Emperor Hirohito on 15 August and formally signed on 2 September 1945, bringing the hostilities of World War II to a close. The Heritage Society intended to commemorate VJ anniversary with a talk and presentation about one of a number of Blisworth lads who went to war to fight in the Far East and Burma. The talk was scheduled for our September meeting (11 Sept 2020). After a lot of deliberation, we reluctantly decided that a ‘normal’ meeting was neither safe nor practical at that time. Now that meetings have recommenced, the Talk is rescheduled for 14 Oct 2022.
